Audio – Production unit – Evaluation

In this evaluation, I will be evaluating the processes of creating the sound recreation for the clip from the film Star Trek (2009). These processes are Planning – Research – Production, and post-production.

First Impressions – This piece isn’t appropriate for a professional viewing because Some parts are out of sync one of the voices is not appropriate and isn’t phased right the tone of voice is wrong for the situation. The mix isn’t fully correct at times the footsteps are louder than they should be and at times they are too quiet. The sound effect used for Explosion Sound effect goes on for too long. However, the phaser sound effects and other sound effects are mainly suitable for the piece and the wild track is appropriate for the ships hum. The sound effect for the Romulan captain running down the alley is good and both suitable and believable. Some of the voice tones are good and in sync and believable. This piece has been better if it had been mixed better and certain sound effects and voice tones were altered. I would say that the sound recreation in the piece is effective at points however it is not up to the professional standard and a viewer would be able to spot out the mistakes.
